I don't need to see the caskets from Iraq
I don't need to see the death of an American Citizen
I don't need to see the families of the fallen
I don't need to see the humiliated ashes of the dead
I don't need to see the abuse of Iraqi prisoners

I don't need to be amongst the dead on a cargo plane
I don't need to be a victim
I don't need to be a family member
I don't need to feel the pain of burning flesh
I don't need to be a tortured soul

I don't need any of these things

To feel an anguish and despair
That has taken hold of my very soul
