On April 29th President George W. Bush and VP Dick Cheney will meet with the 9/11 commission. However it will not be televised, it will not be under oath, and it will not have a transcript available. Begs the question, what do these people have to hide? The 9/11 Commission objective is to outline what the Bush administration might have known prior to the attack. Condoleezza Rice was asked under oath as many have been including formal President William Clinton on what they might have known. This was a televised hearing, and under oath. Here we have the national security adviser under oath giving her testimony. On the other hand we have the top leader and his VP behind closed doors. They can say that it is national security that they are protecting by being behind closed doors. But why not under oath? This makes little sense. The national security advisor under oath testifies on tv, Condi Rice is that advisor. Looking deep into it just doesn’t make sense. Bush and Cheney behind closed doors says something, people accused of deceit (as they have) should be held a little more accountable. This is very wrong. I find the idea that they are not under oath very disconcerting. That in itself should be alarming to most Americans. What is wrong with us, we flip flop as much as we say John Kerry does. Of course that is the polls, my opinion hasn’t varied since last year. I have always thought that attacking Iraq was definitely the wrong move. I have often said that George Bush is alienating the country from the rest of the world, now it can be said that he is as much alienating us. The Polls Have It I can not believe that the polls are in favor of Bush. We’re in the dark and have been in the dark about Iraq. Iraq is now the higher issue. The resentment against the US is growing and those in charge of our Country are responsible. That being the case we must as Americans be more suspect of what is going on. The senate catches up to current events Recently there have been senate hearings regarding Iraq. It is about time they raise some questions about invading Iraq. One could lay out a flow chart connecting all the different conspiracies, people involved, and the organizations behind them. It is interesting. However the bottom line is the invasion of Iraq. Sadly this had ever happened. That is the real world bottom line, but what of the rabbit hole? The answers to why. Why Indeed What a question “why?” is. Two year olds often ask them, bless their hearts they question everything. It is more important for us adults to start questioning everything. It doesn’t make sense that an attack on our shores is avenged in a country not involved. Afghanistan is also involved but it should be added that it is hardly mentioned. The so called war on terrorism is in Afghanistan, our war. I see it this way, Al-Qaeda bought a war to our shores Bush then brought a war to Iraq. His war, their war, but is it our war? -=topper=- April 22nd 2004 |
