It truly is wicked television. The creators, producers, directors, and staff of 24 should applaud themselves as well as us applauding them. I haven't up until Labor Day even watched the show. But they were having a marathon that started the night before. I came in around hour 10. All I can say is, what a show. A made for television mini series couldn't hope to be this good. I am a fan of Kiefer Sutherland. Going back to his Lost Boys and before that even. I was particularly fond of his performance in Dark City. One of his earlier pictures dealt with dreaming, and the characters of the dreams entering the real world. I haven't seen this movie listed amongst his lists of films, however this one does go back a ways. What is 24 The show comprises conspiracy, back stabbing of the highest order, homicide, egos that need control, homicide, nail biting action and did I mention homicide. I wish I would have listed those in number. Most were needed, and when people finally left their ego at the door and listened or got clued in it was such a relief I found myself clapping. I didn't feel at any moment that I was watching a television show. I felt as if I was watching a movie. Did I mention that television more often than not can't even make a mini series this good. Pretty soon on Sci-fi, with Stephen Spielberg's "Taken" you'll be able to see what I mean. I hope you have seen 24 because I am going to give something away right now. But in a lot of movies you have a bad guy, and along the story line you wish the character would just kill him and get him out of the way so he is less of a threat down the road. Well I didn't see earlier hours but this particular figure was the Father of a child that Kim, Jack Bauer's daughter kidnapped for reason's I found out about. Now Kim has to go back for her belongings and this threatening character is there, she gets the better of him and calls her Dad, Jack. He then proceeds to tell her to plug two slugs into this Gary's chest. I guess he will not be hurting any one any more. Furthermore if this was in a theatre, I would imagine the audience clapping at that. This particular installment compares to world events of the present. An action and a reaction. However this fictional President handled the situation with more tact than our actual President. The second season of 24 is out on CD and I recommend it to anyone that is into intrigue. There was much needed things I needed to do, but spent at least 10 hours glued to my set. Like I said, wicked. Cast:
There were more actors but I
wouldn't think an actor would consider 24 a career move. I did mention
homicides right? |
